Hey, Africoders!

Did you know the very first computer programmer, the one who wrote the first program, was actually a woman? Her name was **Ada Lovelace**, and while she may not have coded on a modern computer, her work in the mid-1800s laid the groundwork for the entire field of computer programming!

Ada Lovelace worked with Charles Babbage on his ambitious Analytical Engine, a machine designed to perform complex mathematical calculations. Though the machine itself was never fully built, Ada, in her notes, theorized about its potential and wrote instructions (the first computer program!) for the engine to calculate Bernoulli numbers. This is why she's considered the first programmer!

The woman really tried, we need more women like that in programming. It is still rather male-dominated, @dhtml what do you think?

Well, we are starting to have more women in tech these days, and there are even communities that help women to grow in tech too.
